Lake Georgetown

So we have lived in Georgetown for over a year now. And just the other day we made it out to Lake Georgetown. We have jet ski all ready and never got to use it, and now it is slowly getting colder so probably won't take it out until it gets warm after Winter. Anyway, it was still good to go down to the lake and just scope it out!!!! Here are some pictures we got. BEAUTIFUL LAKE!

Dr. Johns Sports Center

Just wanted to update everyone about work! It is still going great!!! I really love it and I am so happy that I found this job. We have been trying to make changes lately and things seem to be going in the right direction to make us a better after school program. We have been working on positivity instead of using tons of discipline... leaving our personal, home stuff at home and loving on these kids.

I have started this new thing with my kids, for the positive route of dicipline during attendance time. Usually, I just have them run around like crazy while I mark down who is there. Now, we sit in a circle and when I call their name out, they tell me a favorite something... like color or animal... or ask a question for them to answer. It has been going pretty well... they just take so long to think or want to pick 10 favorite colors.... I don't have that much time. haha... They are so cute though!

We are preping for Halloween and it is getting so exciting!! We are going to doing a Haunted Mansion setup in our gym and we are hoping the kids love it. It is going to be a maze and have all these different rooms and they weave through the gym and do a couple of activites... so it will be fun... I hope :)

Wrap up...

Lets see....

I am (hopefully) back to normal with the back spasms and hope to NEVER have that feeling EVER again! Horrible...

Work is going great. I am LOVING the cooler weather and hope it sticks around. I have FLAG FOOTBALL for the next 6 weeks of work, so that will keep me busy for sure. I have to prepare for this coming up week. Get everything laid out so I know what is going on. Different things for the bigger kids and smaller ones keep me busy and tired..... They are a handful.

We went to our first GEORGETOWN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME! We had so much fun. Before we left, our next door neighbors were outside and said the dad and oldest son were there... little did we know, they would be right where we were looking for seats, so we sat right next to them. I think Austin was glad to have him there to talk to since all I wanted to do was watch the cheerleaders :)

Oh and did I mention that Georgetown played Temple. It was a little wierd for me. Austin said we definitely wouldn't be sitting on the Temple side... but I wore a red shirt anyway! I didn't do much cheering for either team. Just watched and thought about how it was when I still cheered for Temple High School. Makes me sad at how time flies.

If you don't already know... COLLEGE FOOTBALL is back and running. I am on game 2 for the day... and yes I am sitting here watching the UT game in an A&M shirt :)

Back to normal...

Welp. Back to reality. I am feeling so much better and I am back to my normal work routine! A little sad, but I hope to never have those darn back spasms ever again! It is nice to be back with the kids and they are excited to have me back!

P.S. TODAY IS AUSTIN'S BIRTHDAY! Happy 26th Birthday, Babe!

Back to work

Welp, I am back to feeling ALMOST normal. I am moving around a lot more and doing things on my own. I had physical therapy this morning and I am headed back to work for the first time since Friday. I talked to one of my co workers today to tell her I would be there and she said the kids will be excited to see me.... I hope they don't tackle me to the ground! I have missed them and can't wait to meet all the new faces that are hopefully there! I am excited to get this afterschool program under schedule and maybe by next week I will be back working with the kids instead of at the front desk!

I will keep everyone posted!

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. With out those I wouldn't have recovered as well as I did. I really appreciate everyone who thinks about me and calls to check on me. It makes me feel super loved and I love ever single one of you guys as well!

Trip to the ER..

So, Yesterday morning around 6:30 I got up to use the bathroom. When I got back into bed, about 5 minutes later as I tried to move, I was in so much pain. I couldn't move my arms or head with out it KILLING my back and neck. I laid there for about 30 minutes just thinking maybe it was a catch in my back, which I get often, but when it didn't go away... I got scared. Finally I woke Austin up in tears and told him what was going on. We layed there in bed while he comforted me that I was going to be ok. I was for sure that I was becoming paralized.... I had tingling in my arms and I just knew they were going to be the first to go!

After about an hour after the pain first started, we called a registered nurse through our insurance and talked to her. She just recomended Advil and ice. She also though we should call our doctor, but it being Sunday... no one was working. We ended up calling the on-call doctor that works at the same office as ours. He said the same things as the registered nurse. He said if the pain didn't go away, that we should go to the ER. After about 3 hours of pain and not being able to move much, to the ER we went. The doctor there said it was severe muscle spasms. I have had muscle spasms before... and they didn't feel ANYTHING like what I felt yesterday.

Today, I am doing ok. I am taking a couple of days off of work to see how I am doing. I am just really sore and stiff today. I can get up and move around but I feel some pain. It is tolerable though.

Just wanted to keep everyone updated!

Hope I get to feeling much better soon!

Galveston with the Brents

Tyler, Austin and I went to Galveston this past weekend to have one last vacation before summer is over. We had such a good time. Mia Jo had a BLAST playing fetch in the shallow waters.
We drove to Huntsville, which is where Tyler lives now, Thursday night after we both got off of work. We woke up Friday morning ready to be at the beach!!! When we FINALLY arrived in Galveston, we checked in and headed to the beach right off the seawall for the afternoon. We had a good time relaxing and doing nothing. Since it was 5ish when we were at the beach, there wasn't too many people around us, so we could let Mia run around without worrying about her running off. That night, we went to Mario's Italian and Seafood. It was a complete mess.... That is a whole other story! On Saturday we headed out to the ferry and headed to Crystal Beach (our favorite). It was so nice on that beach; we were there ALL DAY! We got a pizza and ate it in the tahoe on the beach!!!! We had a great time spending the weekend together. We went to Joe's Crab Shack on Saturday night for a WONDERFUL dinner.... It was good! Sunday, we woke up slow and packed up. We got out of the hotel right at the check out time and headed for some lunch. We grabed food and parked on the seawall to watch the waves during lunch. Then headed back to Huntsville.... It was sad for it to end, but we had a great time so it was worth it.

Enjoy the pictures and video!
