New Apartments

Well, yesterday I got on the look for new apartments train. I feel like there are many out there just like me so it is kind of weird. Anyways! We are looking for new apartments because with Austins job, he will be done with training in about a month maybe and he says that if he requests that he wants to stay in the Austin area then it is possible. It might take a while but either way he will continue working at the store he is in now for probably about 6 more months until a spot in an Austin store opens. Bottom line is..... it looks like we are staying in Austin! I think I wasnt excted at first because I am not in love with Austin. I am learning my way around but it is still all new to me. We love the place we are in, the location and the actual apartment, it is just too expensive since it is corporate housing. But I am looking in basically the same location because it is a really good one and we love it. Now all we need is a boat! We are so close to Lake Travis....

Last night around 4, I went to happy hour with a friend of ours and I had this really good drink. It was called The Streak and it tasted like vanilla coke. Very yummy..... Austin came and met us after he got off work and we just hung out and talked. I dont know if because of all the drinks or if it was just last night, but I had a hard time sleeping. I kept waking up and it was not fun at all. I got up one time around 3:45am and I heard a bunch of commotion so I looked out the window. Now when we were getting into bed around 11:15pm there was a UHAUL truck and some people were unloaded it. So the noise I heard this morning was the UHAUL being towed. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. On the other hand it was annoying because all this was happening right outside our window. Austin of course slept through the whole thing, but I was glad because he is the one that has to go to work in the mornings.

Well, Well, Well.....

How long has it been since I have written to all my friends and family??? Lets just say TOO long!! But no worries, I am officially back!

It has been so crazy, I don't even know where to start. I guess I will just go backwards.

This weekend was the fourth of July and we had such a good time in Spring. It was our first fourth of July as a married couple and it was good to do something different for once. Our friends and their neighbors bought over 4,000 dollars worth of fireworks and it was so much fun to see so many fireworks go off right in front of your eyes. I forgot that my camera had a firework setting, so I only got one picture with that setting but the others turned out ok. We got in late Sunday night from Houston and we got to sleep in Monday because Austin had the day off!!!! He is back to work today and I am home watching the Michael Jackson Memorial on TV.. pretty boring if you ask me.

Back to Austin and work. For those of you who don't already know, he is working at Sherwin Williams on Burnet street in Austin, TX. We live in a corporate housing place off Old Spicewood Springs Rd. and we love it. It is in a great location and we are slowly learning our way around the town. We have been living here since the Sunday after the honeymoon because Austin was supposed to start work on that Monday but when he got to work they realized that they did the background check on the wrong Austin so he couldn't go back to work until that was done. It took a while but he finally got to go back to work that next Friday. He has really liked it. Now that he has been working for a while, he is getting to do more assistant manager jobs, like make deliveries, close up the store, and pay bills....

Mia has been getting so big! She still weights 3.5 pounds, but now that her hair is cut short, she looks little and her legs look really long!!! She is too cute. Everyone this weekend loved her and that makes me so happy! I hope that the short hair is helping with the heat, otherwise I cut her hair short for no reason! She is getting so much better with the potty training and eating and drinking. We can fill up her bowl with water and food and she will now just eat and drink when she wants instead of drinking all the water as fast as she can which is what she used to do! So we are learning.....

Well, this is all I can think of now. I hope this sort of makes up for all the time I didn't write. And I will write again soon!!!!

9 DAYS!!!

Wow, as if I didn't think I could get any worse. I hope after the wedding I will be better at updating this thing. So the wedding is 9 days away and I CANNOT WAIT! I am so excited to 1) see how things turn out, 2) to see everyone, 3) to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams, and 4) GO TO THE BAHAMAS!

We have been putting the final touches on some things for the wedding. Catering.... Garter... rehearsal dinner... little things like that. This has been such an experience and I am so thankful I only have to do this once. I don't think I could do this again. And I really haven't been doing anything. I have to give ALL THE CREDIT to my wonderful mother. Without her, there would be no wedding. It is crazy as to how many hours and sleepless nights she has spent on the wedding; way more than I have! I am just taking a trip down easy street!

We are having the bachlorette and bachlor parties this weekend and I am so excited about spending a night with some of my most favorite girls! Austin is excited to spend some time with his guys that he hardly gets to see! It should be interesting on both sides. I have been hearing tid bits of information about the bachlorette party and I am kind of nervous to find out how it is going to go!!!!!! I am also having the LINGERIE shower this weekend. I am expecting to get some super cute outfits! I can't wait!

I cannot think of anything else to say right now, I could probably go on for hours about wedding stuff since it is so close, but I guess you will just have to come to the wedding and find out!!!!

Wow, so much to catch up on! Bridesmaids dresses just came in! I cannot wait to see them.... Invitations are in. When my parents get back on Friday, we are having a stuffing party..... I only have three more weeks in my long term subbing job... MONEY!! Austin has his 3rd interview with Sherwin Williams.... I only have a couple more weeks of school.... Everything is just flying by!!! Colby Lee was born.... Arielle got married....

Dress Fitting

Well, we went yesterday to Austin to get fitted in my dress. It almost fit perfectly! They will need to take in about an inch in the waist and of course a bunch on the bottom (because I am short) but thats ok. I take my bridal portraits on March 25th. I also got to pick up my veil. It is hanging up in my room! I cannot wait for my pictures and to put it all together! I hope it all looks good! We are taking the pictures somewhere out in West Texas and we have to go and stay over night to get them done. It should be interesting.


We also had a Kitchen shower the other weekend. It was so much fun!! I got some super cute stuff and had some great people there to enjoy them with me.

And We Are Trucking....

Wow. I am getting really bad at writing in this thing. So much has happened and I am trying to remember what I last wrote. Ok, I just looked back to refresh my memory.

So tuxes... Vest, not so much the right color, but we figured out a Plan B so that is all good and done. Tuxes are all ready and we are on our way to wedding day. Austin got to try everything on including a couple jackets, couple of ties, and a couple of vests. I had gone to College Station Thursday after my class to pack up my apartment on Friday. We drove to Temple on Saturday and drove straight to Al's Formal Wear to try stuff on before putting if off any longer. (We are bad about that...) I cannot wait to see Jackson in his little tux, he is going to be so precious! Austin will be looking pretty dashing too I might add!

Next, bridesmaids dresses have FINALLY, FINALLY been ordered! They should be here hopefully the first week of May and I CANNOT wait to see them!!! And see them on everyone! I kinda want on for myself.. is that normal?

I bought a dress in Ausitn the other day, against my mom's will. She hates it so much but when I tried it on, I knew I couldn't leave the store without buying it! I think it is so cute. It is a long dress and it is racerback and it has rhinestones on the front. Mom only hates it because it is a long dress and she doesn't really like long dresses..... although I have like 3 now. Oh well.... anyways my point is that I am planning to wear it sometime on the honeymoon! I cannot wait for that.... the beach.... the sun... Austin and Haley time... man it is going to be so awesome!!!

Me and my mom met with the caterer and made lots of progress with the food situation. We picked out some tablecloths but we are not sure if they are going to work anymore becuase my dress and the groomsmen shirts (and Austins shirt and such) are ivory and the tablecloths we have picked out are white, so that is one thing that we have to go back and fix. We went over our budget a little on the catering tab, so we need to go fix a couple things to maybe bring that price down a bit.

Aside of wedding, I am long term subbing for Mary Beth while she is on maternity leave. I am excited and scared all at the same time. She has given me some math books to study but I haven't looked into them much yet. I think is going to be such a great teaching experience for me since I will actually be teaching for my first year in August.... (hopefully)

I guess this is all for now. I have a kitchen shower on Sunday so I will have some news about that!! I cannot wait, it is going to be so much fun!!

Colors..

Well... all the measurements are in and we are cooking! Hopefully the bridesmaid dresses will be ordered before the end of the week. Austin and I went looking at tuxes so that process has started. He is coming in this weeked, for Valentine's Day and for our FIRST pre-marital class at TBC, and he is going to try on some tuxes that they are getting in for him. They have a really pretty color for the vests, but we don't know if we can use them yet because we dont have the swatch in yet for the bridesmaid dress to see if they match. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED THAT THEY DO MATCH!! That would just be perfect!
I think this is all the news I have for now, I will update after he tries on tuxes and such....

Updates!!

OK!! I think I am FINALLY making some progress on this whole wedding thing. These past two weeks have been great for wedding details! Everything is coming together nicely and I cannot wait to see the final product in June. I still cannot belive it is already 2009 and I am getting married this year, it seems unreal. I am so excited that I get to be married to Austin. He is the greatest person I have ever met and I have never been as happy as I have been the last 3 years that I have known him.



Anyways. We have officially picked out the bridesmaids' dresses and they are the most perfect color ever. I think they are going to turn out so cute in person and I cannot wait to see them on everyone! I hope you like them as much as I do! I cannot wait to find the perfect flowers to go with them! Along with getting dresses last week, I also picked out Jayci, the flower girl's, dress. I am excited to see it on her! I also picked out what shoes I want. They have a bow on the back, rinestones on the front and they are super cute!!!!! I am going to feel like a princess walking down the aisle.



This morning, my mom and I went to Callies house to pick out what type of plates I wanted and some other kitchen goodies. We found some really cute stuff and we picked out some things that we wanted to see samples of and I will have to go back when they come in to check them out and I hope I love them, which I'm sure I will! We decided to go with white plates and primary colors for the accessories. I think it is going to be super cute and I will have many fun parties at my house! You are all invited!



After Callis House, my mom and I went to Dillards to look at bedding. I think I have found what I want and I think I'm going to do Blue and White in the bedroom and Red in the Bathroom. We will see how that progresses and lets hope it doesn't change!!! I'll keep yall updated as this goes on!!!



Oh and I don't remember if I said anything, but we picked a honeymoon spot. WE ARE GOING TO THE BAHAMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you just imagine me laying out under those palm trees??

Bridesmaid dress....

Hey Everyone! I know it has been a while again since I have written anything. I just get so busy I don't think about it all the time. Well since last time I wrote, we ordered a potential bridesmaid dress and it turned out all wrong, color wise. Its more of a sea foam green when I wanted more of a teal color. The dress is super cute and I like it, we just don't know what to do about the color. We are thinking maybe go pick out the fabric ourselves and then get someone to make a dress like the one we got from jcrew. We will see how it goes and I will keep everyone posted. I'm so glad I am close to home... actually living at home.... and I can start making other decisions and go see poeple and I can start putting this wedding together! I can't wait to start looking at flowers and food, this is going to be so much fun. I cannot believe it is coming up so soon. Less than 5 months away I will become Mrs. Brent!!!!

I cannot wait for us to start pre marital counseling because we will also be looking for a house/condo/townhouse/apartment for us to start our lives in. Austin will be done with school in May so he will have to live wherever we pick starting in May and then I will move in after hopefully the honeymoon. It is going to be such a crazy year and I just can't wait!!! We still haven't decided on a honeymoon spot because at first with the MCC teacher certificate program I was going to have class on the weekend of the wedding and the weekend of the honeymoon, so Austin did not want me missing class so we were thinking (he was thinking, not me) about waiting a little bit for the honeymoon, I wanted to go right after since MCC said I would be ok missing those days. Anyway, I changed programs and I am now doing my teacher certificate through Region 12 and so I will be done by the wedding and hopefully we can now go on a honeymoon... I cannont wait to be on the honeymoon, laying on the beach all day! Maybe I just can't wait because its cold today! I am sitting under my covers with a blanket over my shoulders. I'm ready for summer weather!

I finally graduated and it feels so good. We had a graduation party on Sunday and it was so much fun. My family was there, Austin's family came, and also Lynnsay's family came and it was a blast! I went to target yesterday to get thank you cards then I came home and wrote them all. It feel so good to get things like that done and not have them hanging over your head and thinking about them all the time. I enjoy marking things off my to do lists.

Well I cannot think of anything else at this point. I will just keep everyone posted on wedding details as they arise and I will keep you posted on honeymoon spots too.

The New and Old Year

Well, I haven't been good in keeping up with this thing. I didn't even know anyone else was keeping up with it until my dad said something about it. The year 2008 is now behind us and it has been such a crazy year. So much has happened in my life and I can't believe this year is going to be even more crazy.

This past year I got engaged and finished up my last and most stressed out semester ever at Texas A&M and it feels so good! Whoop... for graduation!!!

Even though my hat fell off on stage right after I shook the President of A&M's hand; I did not trip or fall and that's what I was more worred about. We went on a couple vacations; Austin and I flew to Colorado to spend some time with our friend Blake right before school started in August and then we also went on a family trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In Colorado we went white water rafting and hiking in the mountains. In Florida we went deep sea fishing and I caught a shark. We decided to get it mounted so hopefully one day we can hang it over a pool table. Also Austin and I took a trip to Spring, TX by Houston to play with Hurricane Ike and it was definitely an experience to say the least.

Most recently we got a puppy; Mia. Well her full name which is on her collar is Mia Jo Brent. She is the cutest thing ever but she is a nightmare all at the same time. She is not house trained and it is very hard to teach her the things that I want her to learn. Waking up in the morning EARLY is the hardest thing for me and she loves to be up early. Starting out she was up at 5 in the morning, now she is sleeping in until about 9:30am. It is getting better. She is so much fun to have around because she is very playful. That pretty much sums up this past year....

Here's to the next year! The biggest thing to happen this year is I AM GETTING MARRIED! I cannot wait and I think it is going to be the best thing ever! Also this year Austin and I will be getting our first real jobs and buying our first place to live! It is going to fly by and it is going to be one adventure after another but with Austin by my side I know it will all turn out great. So many people are getting married this year; we have one wedding after another to attend.

Not much has been going on with the wedding. Since I am now done with school much more planning will be happening. I will actually be going to places and making final decisions now that I will be living back in Temple. Flowers will be done along with food for the reception and so on. I cannot wait for this wedding to be here and it is going to be so much fun picking everything out and watching the wedding come together. I will keep everyone posted as the planning continues!!
