Beaver Creek, Day 6 and on

Day 6: The 19th of March
Day of coming home!
Well.. It was sad to come home and for it to be such a long journey made it worse!

We all woke up around 5am and it was SNOWING.. not just snowing, it was REALLY SNOWING! We wait all week for it to snow and it comes as we are heading home! It was so pretty though and we got to play for a little bit while loading up the van. We head to the airport and it snows the whole way to the airport. Our plane is covered in snow and we watch the snow continue to fall. I have never gotten to fly in snow, so I was a little excited!!!! Time to board! We get on the plane and sit for a little bit. They wanted to see if the weather would clear before we taxi out. Not too long after, we taxi to the de-icer to get the snow off the plane. This is when the sitting starts. We sit for almost three hours.... they kept coming and telling us that there is not enough visability to take off. We sit and sit and sit...... Finally they taxi us back to the gate and tell us if we want to get off we can, but if we want another flight, there wouldn't be any until Monday or Tuesday nights.... it was FRIDAY! So crazy. So we decided to stay on the plane and sit it out. It was now around lunch time.. we were supposed to take off around 8am... so HB and Lynnsay got off the plane to go get us all some lunch! They said it was CRAZY inside. No flights were able to take off, so there were people everywhere inside. They come back and we eat lunch.... we continue to sit. They just keep telling us there isn't enought visability.... Blah blah.... I am sure I am boring you..... To finish the story, we ended up sitting on the plane for 7 hours before being able to take off. It was pretty miserable!

When we FINALLY got to the airport in Dallas, we grab our bags and get in the cars to head home!!!!! Our car had to stop in Hillboro again to meet up with Austin's parents so they could take us to Whitney! It was nice to be in Texas again!!!

While in Whitney, it was a VERY relaxing trip. We stayed in out pjs pretty much the whole time. We went to a wedding Saturday night and Church on Sunday.... On Monday we went to the annex and got Austin's truck and the jetski put in our name! We went to the school to tell his mom bye and headed to Temple! We stopped in Temple to eat lunch with Mom and Dad.... we had to go by POP because there wasn't anywhere to park the truck and jetski. After lunch, we went back and got the truck. While driving, Austin pulled over to check on the trailer. The tire seemed to be coming off and so we drove super slow and were going to try and make it to the farm to get some tools to fix it. We couldn't make it that far so we stopped at POP again and called dad. We parked it inside and took the trailer off the truck. We decided to just go to the farm and get a trailer to put the other trailer and jetski on. We came back and did just that! Man we were looking good! So again we are on the road again...... We get to about Salado and as Austin is pushing the pedal down, the speed of the truck was also going down, which ISN'T supposed to happen..... We drive about 20 miles an hour on the access road back to Belton to the shop where my parents take thier cars and leave the broken truck and the broken trailer. Dad takes us to the house and we get to stay for dinner! It was a long day so dad let us take his truck back home with us.... So that was Monday.... we just went last night back to Temple to get his truck and trailer. It was good to finally get our stuff back!!!

It was a crazy week and we are glad everything is back in its place and everyone has their own car now!

Beaver Creek, Day 5

Day 5: The 18th of March
Last day of skiing. :(
We did our own things in the morning.... including making sandwiches before we left! We were meeting mom and dad at the bunny slope around lunch time to get pictures and videos of the kids coming down the mountain. They were so cute. Jayci had improved 110% from the other days. We think it was from her ice skating. It was like it just clicked and she got it! It was cool to witness it. She is amazing! After skating on the bunny slope for a while, we headed down for lunch. We ate sandwiches as one big happy family. When we were sitting and talking after everyone finished lunch, dad handed me his phone and told me to listen. It was a message from a guy who had found my PHONE!!!!! I was so excited to be getting my phone back, it had been a long two days without it...... We had made plans to meet up later that night to pick it up. This guys turned out to be a total creeper and really scary.... thats a whole other story...
That afternoon, our friends Blake and Amy came to visit us! They live in Denver and it was about a 2 hour drive. It was good to see them for a little bit and hang out with them! We hadn't seen them in a while and I'm glad we got to see them while we were in their state! We started drinking when they got there and ended up in the hot tub. We had a full tub... Me, Austin, Blake, Amy, HB, and Lynnsay..... It was fun! After the hot tub it was bed time. We made their bed and tucked them in. The morning came early. We had to get up around 5 and be ready to leave around 5:30 for the airport.....

Beaver Creek, Day 4

Day 4: The 17th of March
Saint Patty's Day :)
Day 3 of skiing.
These pictures are easy to pick out because most of us were wearing green! Anyways, to start out the day, we were pretty much all separated. But it was nice to do our own things sometimes! We ended up meeting and ate lunch at the slopes. We sent the boys up for another run... well just HB and Austin.... and the rest of us went to get lunch. We sat down in the village and had a nice lunch together just us kids! Who knows what mom and dad were doing, probably shopping, knowing mom!!!!! :)
This lunch outing was the time when I lost my phone.... what a sad situation that turned out to be!!! It was aweful..... we kept going to check lost and found, and checking that place we ate lunch but no phone in sight. After lunch, we went back out to ski. HB, Lynnsay, Austin and I headed up the cenntenial, as usual! That one was probably our favorite lift and runs even though they were all blues.
After skiing all day and doing a little shopping too... we went home an all got changed. After dinner, we went ICE SKATING!!!!! It was so much fun and Jayci LOVED it. We could hardly drag her off the ice when it was closing. She just skated around and around and around. The rest of us took many breaks off the ice, but not her!!! It was soo cool to watch her. She had just learned to rollerblade for her roller skating birthday party and we weren't quite sure if she would pick up ice skating.... but now she is hooked!
After skating, Austin, Jordan, Justin and I went out for drinks for St. Patty's day! We went to a little bar called The Dusty Boot. It was a pretty cool place! And then home to sleep for our LAST DAY OF SKIING!

Beaver Creek, Day 3

Day 3: The 16th of March
Day 2 of skiing.
That morning we loaded up and headed to the mountain. Some of us more tired and sore then others, so we went at different times. We headed up the mountain, with Mindy as our guide, and the kids to the bunny slope at the top of the gondola lift. At one point, Mindy took us way over to another mountain to a place called Bachlor's Gulch. It got a little rough at one point and HB was trying to help Lynnsay, so Austin, Mindy and I finshed the mountain and HB and Lynnsay did too, just a different route. It was awesome to go to a different part for a little bit. It was gorgeous on that side! After all that, we were exhausted and headed back to the house for lunch. After a quick sandwich lunch we headed back out! Mindy had to go to work after lunch so we went up the gondola ride a few times and Austin took turns bringing the kids down and Jordan would take the other one down the easy green. It was so fun to watch them try to get the hang of it. After a long day of skiing, mom and dad with HB and Lynnsay took the kids home and the rest of us.... Jordan, Justin, Austin and I stayed in the village to do a little shopping. We went to Mindy's work to see her and she took us home that night.

Day 2: The 15th of March
Day one of skiing.... Kids in ski school... Justin in boarding school.... Jordan, Lynnsay, HB, Austin and I taking it easy for day one....
Mom and dad went out with us in the morning to take pictures then they left to go run some errands... AKA shop and go to the grocery store! More emphasis on the shop part! We looked and looked all day to see if we could see the kids and Justin too. It was his first day of snowboarding and we tried to warn him how hard it was.... but he actually did REALLY good and picked it up! We were very impressed! Speaking of that, I should break down what we all do. Snowboarders: Me, HB, Lynnsay and newly Justin
Skiers: Jordan, Austin and the kids.
The way the hill was broken up where we stayed most of the time was that to the left was a gondola ride, that held 8 people, thank goodness that was all of us, and it took you up to an easy green to the left and a nice green to the right. For day one we stayed on the nice green. It had a couple of hills and we really liked that one! We finally ventured over to a normal ski lift and it was to the right of the gondola lift. It was called the cenntenial and it had an easy green that was way too hard for snowboarders so we stayed away from that... we usually took the blues down from that lift.
We had a childhood friend from Cameron that acutally works at a lodge in Beaver Creek so we called her up and she snowboarded with us for day one and two of skiing. Her name is Mindy and it had probably been 15 years since any of us had seen her. I have been keeping up with her over facebook, but thats about it! It was so good to see her and to hang out with her since it had been that long! She was really good and gets to snowboard all the time.
The lifts usually closed around 4 or 4:30 and that was usually when we were tired enough to go home. On day one the kids and Justin got done with school at 3 and 3:30.
Enough talking about day 2.... here are some pictures! And I PROMISE all the days wont be this long!!!!!!!!!!
