Back to normal...

Welp. Back to reality. I am feeling so much better and I am back to my normal work routine! A little sad, but I hope to never have those darn back spasms ever again! It is nice to be back with the kids and they are excited to have me back!

P.S. TODAY IS AUSTIN'S BIRTHDAY! Happy 26th Birthday, Babe!

Back to work

Welp, I am back to feeling ALMOST normal. I am moving around a lot more and doing things on my own. I had physical therapy this morning and I am headed back to work for the first time since Friday. I talked to one of my co workers today to tell her I would be there and she said the kids will be excited to see me.... I hope they don't tackle me to the ground! I have missed them and can't wait to meet all the new faces that are hopefully there! I am excited to get this afterschool program under schedule and maybe by next week I will be back working with the kids instead of at the front desk!

I will keep everyone posted!

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. With out those I wouldn't have recovered as well as I did. I really appreciate everyone who thinks about me and calls to check on me. It makes me feel super loved and I love ever single one of you guys as well!

Trip to the ER..

So, Yesterday morning around 6:30 I got up to use the bathroom. When I got back into bed, about 5 minutes later as I tried to move, I was in so much pain. I couldn't move my arms or head with out it KILLING my back and neck. I laid there for about 30 minutes just thinking maybe it was a catch in my back, which I get often, but when it didn't go away... I got scared. Finally I woke Austin up in tears and told him what was going on. We layed there in bed while he comforted me that I was going to be ok. I was for sure that I was becoming paralized.... I had tingling in my arms and I just knew they were going to be the first to go!

After about an hour after the pain first started, we called a registered nurse through our insurance and talked to her. She just recomended Advil and ice. She also though we should call our doctor, but it being Sunday... no one was working. We ended up calling the on-call doctor that works at the same office as ours. He said the same things as the registered nurse. He said if the pain didn't go away, that we should go to the ER. After about 3 hours of pain and not being able to move much, to the ER we went. The doctor there said it was severe muscle spasms. I have had muscle spasms before... and they didn't feel ANYTHING like what I felt yesterday.

Today, I am doing ok. I am taking a couple of days off of work to see how I am doing. I am just really sore and stiff today. I can get up and move around but I feel some pain. It is tolerable though.

Just wanted to keep everyone updated!

Hope I get to feeling much better soon!

Galveston with the Brents

Tyler, Austin and I went to Galveston this past weekend to have one last vacation before summer is over. We had such a good time. Mia Jo had a BLAST playing fetch in the shallow waters.
We drove to Huntsville, which is where Tyler lives now, Thursday night after we both got off of work. We woke up Friday morning ready to be at the beach!!! When we FINALLY arrived in Galveston, we checked in and headed to the beach right off the seawall for the afternoon. We had a good time relaxing and doing nothing. Since it was 5ish when we were at the beach, there wasn't too many people around us, so we could let Mia run around without worrying about her running off. That night, we went to Mario's Italian and Seafood. It was a complete mess.... That is a whole other story! On Saturday we headed out to the ferry and headed to Crystal Beach (our favorite). It was so nice on that beach; we were there ALL DAY! We got a pizza and ate it in the tahoe on the beach!!!! We had a great time spending the weekend together. We went to Joe's Crab Shack on Saturday night for a WONDERFUL dinner.... It was good! Sunday, we woke up slow and packed up. We got out of the hotel right at the check out time and headed for some lunch. We grabed food and parked on the seawall to watch the waves during lunch. Then headed back to Huntsville.... It was sad for it to end, but we had a great time so it was worth it.

Enjoy the pictures and video!

Jackson is FOUR....

On August 7th, Jackson turned the big 4. I cannot belive he is 4 years old. He was just born... right?!?!?! :)
I made the trip to Temple for Jackson's Transformer party to represent the Brents. They had their HUGE slide/pool thing and it was awesome! I wish I would have taken my swim suit and joined the kids. I decided to sweat on the sidelines instead. It was good to see everyone there; it is always nice to see a little family! After the kids swam and played, it was eating time. We had hotdogs and chips (my kind of lunch!!!). We headed inside to the AC and had cake and sang to Jackson. And the best for last, opening presents! He got some really cool stuff.
We love you Jackson!

Dr. Johns..

This post is dedicated to my Auntie Lisa! I saw her this weekend and she was curious as to what I have been up to with work. I didn't even think about keeping people updated on here! So here goes... One full summer of work crammed into one post! (It won't be that bad)

Work has been GREAT! I love it so much. The days are hard, but all in all I have really enjoyed being witht the kids and teaching them different activities. This week my activities to teach are Four Square and Disc Golf.... last week I had a science project (they had to build something around an egg so when we dropped it the egg wouldn't break) and jump ropes.... The week before that I had floor hockey! I am no expert at these things..... but I had fun learning from the kids and teaching them what knowledge I did have...

I have accumulated quite a tan from swimming almost everyday of the summer! This week my activites are BOTH outside so I will be using the sunscreen in the mornings. It is supposed to be between 99 and 102 all week. Makes it hard on the kids during activities, but it makes going swimming all that much sweeter!

We have 9 days of summer camp left... :( I think the kids are ready to head back to school. When school does start, after school program starts back up. These hours are so much better. I will be there from 2-6pm therefore I will get to sleep in a little. This waking up at 5:30am is getting the best of me! I am tired all the time now. I just can't catch up.....

Hope everyone had a great rest of the summer!
