Painting

Austin has worked at Sherwin Willimas for about 3 months now... and I have never really gotten into the whole painting thing. For some strange reason I have become Mrs. Painter this week. We have picked out 4 different colors to paint stuff in our house since Monday and so far we have painted three shelves and two things that you can hang your keys or clothes on.... It has been crazy.

We just started a new project today. We are painting our entertainment center with our two newest colors. All four colors are a blue or a green... haha I didn't realize that they were the only colors I liked.... One is like an antique bright teal color.... another light blue, almost a periwinkle.... one a dark turquoisy blue color... and the last is a really light mint green color. We are hoping to use that for patio furniture and rocking chairs for outside. I am not the greatest painter, but it has been a fun experience so far. We also did a little painting in our house. Who ever painted it before us did a pretty bad job, so we did some touching up around our room and the dining room.

Today, Mia came out there in the garage with us and she got some blue paint on her face. It was funny, but I didn't mind because she was already pretty dirty. We had to go to Austin today to the old apartment, clean it up and run a few other errands. We left Mia outside while we were gone. I was pretty worried at first, but I think it is good for her. I want her to play outside without us being there by her side. I am trying to make her independent. She did good today! I was a very proud mommy......

New House!!!!!!!

Wow, it has been too long. I have been doing really good to keep you up to date on what is going on in the Brent household. We just moved AGAIN for the 3rd time in 4 months, Pretty Crazy! We haven't had internet but now that we do, I am glad to be writing about our life! Our new house is AWESOME and has been nothing but a new adventure. There have been people in and out fixing things and setting things up. It has been pretty crazy, but fun to say the least! I am so excited that we get to spend at least a YEAR here and not a few months like all the other places. It feels good to unpack and not thing that we have to repack everything back up soon......

Georgetown is pretty fun to live in. I am learning my way around and realizing that it is so much easier then Austin. I think Austin was just too big; Georgetown is the perfect size for us. Austin is loving work and the people who work there. I was up there the other day for pretty much the entire day which is just crazy... but it was so much fun to get to know the people he works with. They are great people and I just feel that we are so blessed... With living situations, working, money, family, and friends. I don't think things could be any better... Well maybe if we had tons of money! But I wake up every morning thanking God for how great things are for us right now.

Mia has not yet gotten used to the backyard. Usually when we put her outside she sits by the door and doesn't move; especially when it is raining. She is such a brat! Hopefully she will get used to it. There are some BIG dogs next door so she enjoys barking at them like she is a BIG dog too.... Silly Girl. I have started putting her toys in a basket and she can reach them..... she has toys strung out ALL over the house..... I just don't know what to do with her... she is very funny to watch with her toys! I guess one toy out at a time is just not enough for her!!!

We got our new couches and they are so comfy. Austin usually sits down on them when he gets home from work and doesn't move far from them until bedtime.... Which I see as a good thing. We will definitely be getting our moneys worth with them. The cable in our living room is kind of screwy and so my days right now are spent trying to get the living room looking like a living room... It has become a LONG LONG process. I just can't seem to get it just right. Speaking of cable... We again have the channel GAC (Great American Country).... and it plays MUSIC ALL DAY LONG! I love it. I wish MTV and CMT still did because I miss those days. I have also become obsessed with Nancy Grace. I try to watch it every night.... I just can't get enough. I love keeping up with the two stories that are big right now, the missing 5 year old Haleigh and the murdered grad student Annie.... It is so crazy to see the stories progress and finding more evidence...... I sound like such a nerd...

We haven't yet set up the TIVO and/or hung up any pictures or wreaths on the wall. When Austin gets home from work, he is so tired that we just watch TV, eat dinner, chill and hit the sack. Which is perfect with me. I love spending time with my husband and I know he loves the time with me. Mia can't get enough of daddy when he is home. She lays on his lap and tries to lick his face all night long..... she spends all day with me and doesn't get to see daddy, so she takes advantage when he is home.

I got a phone call yesterday and it was a lady from Georgetown ISD. She informed me that she wants to have a screening interview with me on Monday.... I am so nervous!!! She said that at the moment there are no openings for jobs, but they want me to come in so that when there is a job opening they have some people for a good pool for the principal to choose from. I have to shine and let them see me as a great candidate! If I do end up getting a job, that would help us out sooo much!!! We will just have to see what happens.... Wish me luck!

September 11th

Wow... I cannot believe it has been 8 years since that had happened. I have literally been watching shows about it on the History Channel ALL DAY. I have been angry, amazed, sad, crying, and some happiness. It makes me feel very thankful that I have all my family members and I don't have to worry about them being in fear. Watching the events that lead up to what happened and the moments after. Some of the things I have never seen and didn't even know happened. I am at a lost of words right now, I dont even know what to write. I will just tell you my memories from when this happened 8 years ago.

8 years ago, I was a junior in high school. We were walking to our second period classes and I was walking to my History class with Mrs. Green. We had to walk through a hallway that looked like the thing you walk through right before you get on an airplane, my boyfriend at the time was walking towards me and told me what had happened. It was just so unreal to us at the time. We get to class and our teacher already had the news on the TV. We watched the second plane it and then the two buildings fall. It is so crazy that I remember it like it was yesterday.

God Bless America and those fighting for our county.

Oh September!

I cannot believe it is September... I seems like just yesterday it was June and we were just married. Now we feel like an old married couple!!!!! Things have been so great for us and I hope the good fortune carries on.
Next week, Austin will be headed to Dallas for the last of his manager training. We have hardly spent any time away from each other since we pretty much started dating. He will be gone for an entire week. We aren't sure if we can be apart for that long, so we are planning for me to go and stay at the same hotel as him so we can be together! It should be very interesting. I am also planning some other things during he week. I am going to go to Temple and spend some well needed time with some old friends I never see. I am planning a happy hour with Tiffany Pirtle and Mary Beth which should be fun! I am going to go to Mimsy Day Camp and see Colby Lee while I'll be around! And lastly, I am planning on going to dinner with my good friend from High School Whitney. I am hoping to get all these things done early on the week so I can spend the end of the week with Austin.

House hunting went very well! We found a house we really like and we have paid the application fee and we pay the deposit tomorrow and the house is ours... to rent that is! It is a super cute, one story house that has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I cannot wait to move in!!!! It has a good sized backyard for Mia to run around in!! I can't wait for her to see it and start to play! I can't wait for her to run around and get that energy out while being in a fenced in area where she can't run away from me..... I think it will be really good for her.

When we were in Georgetown house hunting, we had some spare time and we went to Innerspace Caverns! It was so much fun and neither one of us had been there in YEARS so it was funny to go back after all that time.
